Features & Benefits

Remote power management of Individual Outlets

System administrators can turn on/off and reset any of the 10 outlets without having to go to the location of the equipment, as well as handle cases where the equipment was turned on/off without authorization, was accidentally unplugged, or experienced a power supply failure.

More details >
Outlet Level Short Circuit Protection

If a short circuit occurs on one of the connected devices, RPCM will automatically cut off only the power going to it, thereby keeping the remaining devices up and running - both the one connected to RPCM and the others connected to the same busbar. Since ATS is used for backup power supply, short circuit protection helps prevent both inputs to the rack from being turned off, while also preventing the equipment's power supply on the rack from shutting down as a result of a short circuit on one of the consumers. It also helps obviate the painstaking process of having to locate the failed consumer affected by the short circuit prior to restoring power supply on the rack.

More details >
Configurable Electrical Current Consumption Limits for Each Outlet

System administrators can prevent fire hazards from occurring by setting individual limits on current consumption on each outlet, through administrator notifications, or by automatically cutting off power supply to a consumer that has exceeded the defined limit.

More details >
Power Meters on Each Individual Outlet

Commercial data processing centers can offer clients better prices on colocation when compared with competitors, as it's possible to measure power consumption for each client device.

Best in class integration capabilities with REST API/SNMP

Use industry standard REST API/SNMP protocols to simplify operations with easy scripting. Integrate RPCM Smart PDUs into your billing/monitoring/management systems and even customer portals to have your power infrastructure data and control in your and your customers' favourite interfaces!

ATS - Automatic Transfer Switch

If power on an input is lost or drops in quality, the device automatically switches consumers to another input without interruption to power supply.

More details >
ICMP/TCP port/consumption based watchdog with automatic power reset

Allow 95% of problems with freezing equipment to be solved automatically!
RPCM is able to automatically reboot the hung equipment, determining the hang to reduce power consumption, decrease the hashing rate of mining equipment, ICMP (ping loss) and access to the TCP port on which the service is unavailable. Thanks to the automation of the reboot in case of hang-ups, a significant reduction in both the time of service unavailability and maintenance costs of geographically distributed equipment are achieved.

Customizable Activation Sequence and Delay of Outlets to Initiate Service Correctly and Eliminate Inrush Currents

System administrators can essentially guarantee the equipment is turned on after a complete outage. Also, they can define the activation sequence and delay when turning on the equipment after the outage, which allows them to correctly launch the IT infrastructure and information systems.

1 For data processing centers and colocation service providers

Each client purchasing a service to locate equipment on data processing center platforms wants maximum convenience when deploying resources:

  • remote power management
  • power consumption control
  • reliable and backup power supply
  • payment only for used resources
  • statistical and historical data

RPCM is a remote power control module that gives colocation service providers an instrument allowing them to provide their users with all the above mentioned and much more!

The device allows users:

  • To protect their equipment from outages in the event of a short circuit on a neighboring equipment
  • To ensure a seamless transfer on one of the inputs if a failure occurs
  • To provide users with remote power management for their equipment
  • To ensure access to statistical and historical data regarding power consumption
...

2 For businesses, remote offices, points of sales, gas stations

Each business strives to effectively manage its activities; in particular, a simple convenient instrument is required in order to ensure the resilience of its infrastructure, namely in regards to power supply. Remote facilities frequently lack qualified personnel that can perform simple actions, which leads to considerable downtimes and expenditures.

RPCM is a resilient power control module that provides indispensable capabilities of control, management, and power supply protection.

The device allows users:

  • To protect their equipment from outages in the event of a SC on neighboring devices
  • To prevent fires thanks to the possibility of establishing limits on current consumption
  • To remotely manage power
  • To customize activation sequence and delay of outlets following a complete power loss, which helps avoid considerable inrush currents and adhere to the equipment’s activation sequence
  • To control power consumption with the help of power meters on each individual outlet
  • To prevent uncontrollable failure of an uninterrupted power supply by switching to the UPS input bypass, if you use UPS
...

3 For non-commercial use and homes

Any homeowner will want to control situations relating to the home’s power supply and to be able to do so remotely. It’s extremely important to not only see the situation, but also to be able to act on it.

Today’s gas equipment is unpredictable when it comes to power supply quality and proper grounding. RPCM is a remote power control module that enables users:

  • To remotely control power supply quality and consumption by communicating problems, for example, via popular messaging apps (Slack, Telegram)
  • To prevent fire hazards through configurable consumption limits for each outlet
  • To prevent complete equipment power loss by protecting against SC on each outlet
  • To prevent power supply irregularities in the event of a UPS failure
...

4 For telecom operators, remote telecommunication hubs

Any telecom operator strives to ensure no interruption affects the services it provides; therefore, its ability to guarantee power supply on remote communication hubs is crucial. Oftentimes such facilities are provided with UPS and/or diesel generators, but when the UPS fails or a short circuit occurs on an equipment connected to the power supply, it usually ends in an outage for the entire hub.

RPCM is a resilient power control module that allows users:

  • To protect a communications hub from UPS failures or fire hazards due to deteriorated quality of isolation within devices and electrical wirings
  • To protect equipment in a communications hub from outages in the event of a SC on certain elements of the infrastructure
  • To remotely manage power, and thanks to the function enabling outlets to be activated remotely, it will help with avoiding considerable inrush currents and with adhering to the equipment’s proper activation sequence, which will invariably help with using the more economically justifiable UPS.
...

5 Production Sector

It’s important for today's enterprises to control and manage power consumption, insofar as the cost of this resource holds critically important significance for them and constitutes a substantial item of expense.

RPCM is a resilient power control module that allows users:

  • To control consumption of individual consumers
  • To protect equipment from outages in the event of SC on certain elements of the infrastructure
  • To provide protection against fire hazards due to deteriorated quality of isolation within electrical wirings and device components
  • To remotely manage power for each connected device and control proper grounding connection

Alexander Yusin

Technical Director, IHOME LLC

We chose the Smart PDU RPCM for several reasons. The main task that intellectual modules RPCM perform in our data center is to maintain uninterrupted operation and increase the uptime of servers and network equipment with single power supply units. Thanks to the built-in Automated Transfer Switch (ATS) function, when the power supply at one of the inputs is lost or degraded, the device automatically switches consumers to another input without interrupting the power supply. The presence of electricity meters at each output allows us to estimate the actual electricity consumption of each piece of equipment, which allows optimal placement of equipment in racks. Another important point when choosing the Smart PDU RPCM for us was the price of the device, which compares favorably with foreign, less functional counterparts.
